  2. refer gnome, but is not in every way, because KDE has some advantages.
I think that KDE is a lot more difficult to find errors and to debug. It also increases the oportunities of the desktop being somewhat unreliable. It also means that 1 application can bring down others. it also means that KDE has a habit of taking over the whole desktop. it does have some advantages, but they don't mean anything to me. one of the overrated advantages is "konqueror" being used as a swiss army knife type application that can open any application such as tarballs without firing up a seperate application. this is quite pointless in my eyes because "kparts" is read-only, so its not possible to write to the files being examined or make changes to them. The user then has appropriate application...

  3. I'd rather prefer GNOME because it puts great emphasis on simplicity and efficiency. Also to be similar to the platform using windows is easy for users to adapt. Since Windows is the most used and known.

  4. I prefer GNOME because it is simpler to use. Although it is true that there are more programs in KDE, you can do everything in GNOME. GNOME aesthetcally is cleaner than KDE.

I really don't know about these GUI and I never have used them to choose the best one. Watching videos I can think that both Gnome and KDE share many features, but Gnome is easier to navigate than KDE because it is simple and it doesn't have confusing options to work. I need to use these GUI some day and feel their functions, advantages and disadvantages.

  7. For me, Gnome hides certain configurations in order to achieve the simplicity, it also offers a cleanliness that allows the user to get stuff done. In the other hand, KDE has menus too confusing. So I prefer Gnome

  9. I am not a Lunix user but I have used Gnome, and I like it because is simple and very interactive.
The graphical user interface of KDE is very nice, it looks like Aqua GUI of Mac. I can not say that Gnome is better because I have never used KDE, but most people prefer Gnome.

  13. I couldn't say which I prefer, because I've only used Linux to do some homeworks. Then I don't know well which features have these two environments.

  15. I prefer to use the Gnome interface, because it's simply and similar than the windows platform that we used to have in our computer, this is an advantage when someone one to use a Open Source OS like Linux, if you have doubts and you try Gnome you will see similar things or even better and i think you will change that boring OS for Open Source one, in this case Linux

  16. I really use only Genome; rarely I use KDE. Both are very complete, but I think that the GUI of KDE is more nice.

  18. In my case, I prefer Gnome because it is easy to use, your goal is a simple desktop and pleasant, dialogs and menus that are displayed to the user are usually simple and easily understood. On the other hand, there are many GTK applications that can use the advanced features of Gnome to interact.
